そこでアニメ！アニメ！では、2019年下半期に引き続き「アニメ化してほしいライトノベル・小説は？（2020年上半期）」と題した読者アンケートを実施しました。6月3日から6月12日までのアンケート期間中に1,086人から回答を得ました。
男女比は男性約80パーセント、女性約20パーセントと男性がメイン。年齢層は19歳以下が約30パーセント、20代が約30パーセントと若年層が中心でした。
■紹介PVやドラマCDがあるタイトルも上位に
第1位
1位は『レジェンド』。支持率は約25パーセントでした。
本作は異世界・エルジィンに転生したレイが、相棒の魔獣セトとともに冒険を繰り広げるファンタジー小説。「小説になろう」では約2500話まで掲載されている超大作であり、「主人公と魔獣グリフォンの成長サクセスストーリー。緩急織り交ぜた長編作品がアニメになったらどう表現されるのかが気になります」や「アニメ化に十分な話数があるので、ぜひ長期シリーズで楽しみたい」といったコメントが届いています。
第2位
2位は『シャングリラ・フロンティア～クソゲーハンター、神ゲーに挑まんとす～』。
こちらはクソゲー好きの高校生を主人公にした「小説になろう」の人気タイトル。まだ書籍化されていませんが、多くの投票が寄せられており、「息もつかせぬ展開、凄まじい戦闘描写、魅力的なキャラクターの楽しい掛け合い、感性に刺さるネーミングセンスがどれをとっても高い品質を誇る」や「作中に登場するゲームの数々がどんなビジュアルになるのか楽しみ」と、映像化を望む声が寄せられました。
第3位
3位は『薬屋のひとりごと』。19年下半期のトップからは順位を下げましたが、上位にランクインしています。
「中華風ミステリーに加えて恋愛要素も。さらに女性が男性と同じように働く難しさが語られており、いろいろと考えられます」や「後宮もののドロドロした感じがあまりなく、キャラクターも魅力的」とストーリーと登場人物のどちらも好評です。コミカライズやドラマCDなどのメディアミックス展開もあることから、アニメ化を期待しているファンが多いようです。

『幼なじみが絶対に負けないラブコメ』は「幼なじみに焦点を当てたラブコメだが、他のヒロインも魅力的。ストーリーもまったく飽きない」や「PVを見て面白そうだったのでぜひアニメ化してほしいです。できればPVと同じキャストで！」。
『転生したら剣でした』には「無機物への転生という新しい発想が、異世界転生系アニメの良い刺激になりそうだと思ったから」。
『とんでもスキルで異世界放浪メシ』には「キャラクターやストーリーも好きですが、何より料理を美味しく食べるところをアニメで見たいです」。
『継母の連れ子が元カノだった』には「主人公とヒロイン。そして周りのキャラ達との掛け合いが面白い。ドラマCD化も決定したので、アニメ化の可能性も高いのでは？」といったコメントが届いています。
今回のアンケートでは紹介PVやドラマCDが制作されているタイトルや、再アニメ化や続編を望むタイトルにも投票がありました。ジャンルとしてはファンタジーが目立ちますが、SFや学園ものもランクインしています。
