Opinion calling for condemnation of human rights abuses, etc. by the Chinese government against Xinjiang Uyghur, Tibet, Inner Mongolia, and other autonomous regions. Comment: I, Masahiro Ishizuka(石塚正浩), strongly condemn the Chinese government's cruel and inhuman acts of genocide, which I strongly believe are unacceptable from a humanitarian point of view, and I am very saddened and distressed by this series of cruel and inhumane acts by the Chinese government that are going beyond the bounds of humanity. 090-7555-5011

The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBS) reported in February this year on the systematic sexual violence at detention facilities in Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, which shocked the world. In Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, reports of forced labor and sterilization of the Uyghurs by the Chinese government have been coming out one after another for some time. The current Secretary of State, William Blinken, has continued this view, condemning the Chinese government's suppression of human rights and genocide. In addition, the House of Commons of the British Parliament adopted a resolution in a bipartisan vote recognizing that "ethnic minorities are suffering from crimes against humanity and genocide" in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region and calling for action by the British government. In addition, the parliaments of the Netherlands and Canada have also passed motions recognizing the situation in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region as genocide. The Chinese government's repression of ethnic groups is an act that may violate the Genocide Convention ratified by 152 countries, and there is a great possibility that serious human rights violations are taking place not only in Xinjiang but also in Tibet, Inner Mongolia and other autonomous regions. We must raise our voices of condemnation and protest against the oppression of peoples, the destruction of cultures, and the violation of human rights as well as human life, from all over the world. Therefore, the City Council strongly urges the Diet and the government to join with other countries around the world in condemning and protesting the Chinese government to immediately cease its actions in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, as well as its actions in Tibet, Inner Mongolia, and other autonomous regions that may infringe on human rights. We submit our opinion in accordance with Article 99 of the Local Autonomy Law. December 17, 2021 Kawachinagano City Council
