The reason why the urban legend was born is that there are some reports in overseas studies that high G exposure due to the movement of fighter planes and electromagnetic wave exposure due to radar may affect the sex ratio of offspring, medically It seems that it was brought to Japan as a rumor without being proved, and it spread as a fact even though it did not occur as a phenomenon in the SDF. There are several reports in overseas research that there was an impact and there were no impacts, and it is not clear. In other words, the current situation is that it cannot be said whether there is an impact or not, including the Japanese report.
For this reason, it is not possible to conclude clearly even now, but research to date has not made a distinction as to whether it is the effect of high G due to the mobility of fighters or the effect of radar radio waves. There are also reports that the pilots of transport aircraft, which do not perform heavy maneuvers and carry strong radar, are not affected. In future research, it will be impossible to determine whether or not the influence of radar radio waves will be affected unless the number of investigations is increased by narrowing down the conditions, such as investigating children of early warning and control aircraft and radar controllers of ground radar stations.
However, at least in the Self-Defense Forces, the phenomenon that "fighter pilots and radar controllers will only give birth to girls as children" has never been reported, and there is only a questionnaire survey to deny it. If you see a story that truly says "In the Self-Defense Force", it can be said that it is an unfounded urban legend.
