「館内に館長が出てくるボタン設置しました」――。
北海道北見市にある「北の大地の水族館」のそんな取り組みが、ツイッターで注目を集めている。
これが話題の「館長が出てくるボタン」。
このボタンは2020年7月6日、同館の山内創館長（32）が自身のツイッターアカウントで投稿し話題となった。山内館長はこの写真に
「魚の話、展示の話、水族館の話、ハンバーガーの話などなど別に用事がなくても気軽に呼び出して下さい！お話しましょー」
と添えている。
その言葉の通り、ボタンの下には
「用事がなくてもＯＫ！
ボタンを押すとだいだい3分以内に現れます」
との説明書きがある。用事がなくても押していいらしい。
イルカやペンギンなど普段なかなか会えない生き物に会えるのが水族館だが、その館長に会う機会というのもなかなかない。そんなに気軽に会えるのならばぜひ押してみたい。
このユニークなボタンにツイッターでは
「館長に会いに行ける水族館 やだ素敵！」
「めっちゃ押したくなるボタンですね」
「凄い！ 今度、押してみます」
といったコメントが寄せられた。
「お客様とのコミュニケーション増やしたくて」
それにしてもどうして、館長を呼び出せるボタンなるものが設置されたのだろうか。
Jタウンネットは山内館長を取材し、詳しい話を聞いた。
このボタンが設置されたのは6日の閉館間近。発案者は館長自身だという。
ふだん館長がいることが多い事務所のすぐ近くに設置されているため、
「だいたい僕は事務所から現れます」
とのことだが、場合によっては違う場所から現れることもあるかもしれないそうだ。
ボタンを設置した理由については
「簡潔に言えば、もっとお客様とのコミュニケーションを増やしたかったからです。
うちは1周30分ほどで周れる小さな水族館です。ですから、ただ見るだけでなく、より知識を深めていただいたり、こんな人が働いているんだということを知っていただいて愛着を持っていただければいいなあ、と思ってます。
ですが、普通に歩いていると話しかけづらいとのお声も聞いていたのでどうにかしたくて、ボタンを設置しました」
と話す。設置もすべて館長が行ったとのこと。ボタンを押すと事務所のパソコンを通して館長のスマートフォンにメッセージがいくようになっている。
6月下旬にこのアイデアを思いついてから、どうすれば館内のどこにいても呼び出せる仕組みになるのか、いろいろ調べて、設置まで辿り着いたそう。
「水族館は水が多くてBluetoothの電波がうまく届かないこともあって、苦労しました」
と山内館長。水族館ならではの困難もあったようだ。
すでにボタンでの呼び出しはあったのか聞くと
「近隣の施設で働く知人がツイッターを見て押しに来てくれました」
と回答が。しかしまだボタンが押されたのはこの1回だけだそう。
館長は
「今日、にやにやしながらボタンを眺めていらっしゃる方も見かけました。ツイッターで拡散されたので、それで知ってくださった方もいるのかな......と思ってます。ぜひ気軽に押していただきたいです」
としている。
ちなみに、「ハンバーガーの話」というのは館長の趣味「ハンバーガーショップ巡り」から来ているそう。展示について教えてもらった後は、近くにあるオススメの店を聞いてみるのもいいかもしれない。

“Simply speaking, I wanted to increase communication with customers. We

also heard that it was difficult to talk to me when I was walking normally, so I wanted to do something about it. I installed a button."
