　アフガニスタン東部で昨年12月、NGO「ペシャワール会」（福岡市）の現地代表で医師の中村哲さん（当時73歳）が殺害された事件で、発生から1年を迎えた4日、現場となったジャララバードで追悼集会が開かれた。 【アフガン支援に尽力する生前の中村哲さん】 　集会は平和構築を目指すNGO「ユア・ボイス・オーガニゼーション（YVO）」が主催し、若者を中心に約50人が参加。YVOを率いるサビルラ・メムラワルさんは「中村さんは用水路で砂漠を緑にしただけでなく、事業の中で多くの貧しい人を雇用するなど、平和と国の復興のために取り組んだ。我々は決して中村さんを忘れない」と功績をたたえた。 　アフガンのガニ大統領もこの日公開されたビデオ演説で、「中村さんは人道や思いやりの象徴で、真のアフガンの友人だった。アフガンの繁栄を許せない敵が、アフガンから中村さんを奪った」とその死を悼んだ。 　中村さんは昨年12月4日朝、ジャララバードから活動現場に車で向かう途中に武装集団に銃撃され、警護役の男性ら5人とともに殺害された。実行犯は拘束されておらず、当局が捜査を続けている。【松井聡】
