　ポルシェのレストアを手がけるシンガー・ヴィークル・デザイン社は、2018年、モーターイベント「グッドウッド・フェスティバル・オブ・スピード」で、「DLS（ダイナミクス・ライトウエイト・スタディ）」と名付けられたプロジェクトの計画を発表し、「世界で最も先進的な空冷『911』」の開発に着手した。プロジェクトには、ウィリアムズ・アドバンスド・エンジニアリング、ブレンボ、ミシュランといった業界の技術系企業が参加している。

　それから3年経った今年3月、964型の「911」をベースにした「911DLS」が完成。オリジナルよりも軽く、速く、ビジュアル的にもよりクールに生まれ変わった。自然吸気の4.0L水平対向6気筒エンジンで、最高出力は500hp、最高許容回転数は9000rpmを誇る。販売価格は180万ドル～（約2億円）だという。

　同モデルは75台のみ制作されたが、つい先日、そのうちの1台がニュルブルクリンク（ドイツにあるサーキット）を走っている様子を写真家がとらえた。写真を見る限り、3月に公開されたオークグリーンのモデルと同じもののようだ。すでに完成しているはずだが、シンガー社はサーキットでテスト走行をしてから納品する予定と見られている。
