The NPO "Kyoto Cultural Association" (Kyoto City) and Canon, which are engaged in activities to create and preserve cultural properties, have completed an elaborate reproduction of the national treasure " Fujin and Raijin Folding Screen " owned by Kenninji Temple in Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto City . rice field. A dedication ceremony was held at Kenninji Temple on the 5th. [Photo] The Olympic commemorative coin is "Wind God and Thunder God Folding Screen"
The folding screen is 154.5 cm long and 169.8 cm wide, and is made by Tawaraya Sotatsu , a painter in the early Edo period . The reproduction was taken with a high-pixel digital camera and printed, and finished by a Kyoto craftsman who is in charge of making folding screens and stamping gold foil. The association and Canon made duplicates in 2011, but technological advances during this period have doubled the number of pixels in the camera, resulting in finer reproductions. The reproduction will be open to the public in the precincts for a while.
