I've been listening to CDs for about 3 months. It took me about three months, but I stopped using the player and listened to them through a DA converter from my MAC.
If I don't care about the jacket, it's more convenient to put it in my PC, but if I really care about something, I keep it on LP record.

I imported everything into my computer.
It was in WAV format, and it only took me a terabyte, but it took me about a week to do it.
One CD is about 700 megs.
7 gigs for 10 CDs
70 gigs for 100 CDs
1,000 CDs, 700 gigs.
So, I had about 1400 CDs.
If the number of CDs is 10,000, then I own a lot of CDs.
If the number of CDs is 10,000, then
7,000 gigs = 7 terabytes
That's 7,000 gigs = 7 terabytes!
Currently, the capacity of external hard disks on the market is 3 to 5 terabytes.
You'll need more than two of them.
As you can see, even I, who worked so hard on 1,400 hard drives, may lose heart in the process.
It might be more cost effective to ask a contractor to do it.
You can get it done at an electronics store.
(After all, it's 10,000 sheets by hand, so it will be expensive...)
Also, as a precautionary advice
In the manga "Kochikame
In the manga "Kochikame," when a large number of videotapes were transferred to a hard disk, a bookshelf the size of a library could be stored on one box of hard disk.
There was a scene where the client was speechless and fell to his knees, wondering how his youth could fit into such a single box.
If you really want to hire a contractor
It's a good idea to keep the CD case in a safe place.

I have a large number of CDs, and as a network audio reject, I deal with them by applying a liquid glass for CDs called "Del Medio".
It has not degraded at all, including the ones I bought in the early days of CDs.
Addendum: CD-Rs also show significant protection and sound quality improvement.
I'm not sure how much I'll need, but I'm sure it will be enough.

I have a collection of several thousand music CDs. Considering the life span of the CDs, such as deterioration of the resin and peeling of the vapor deposition surface, how many more years or decades will they last? Since we live in an age where we can listen to anything on the Internet, should I buy them and get rid of them as soon as possible?
