I usually have many opportunities to speak at universities, but this time I was unusually invited to speak at a vocational class at an elementary school. I thought that it would be difficult for elementary school students to imagine IT engineers, programmers, and other IT technicians, unlike people whose jobs are easy to imagine with words, so I used words that were easy to understand.
Almost everyone has touched programming, has tried making games, knows what AI is, understands the concept of the metaverse, is into e-sports, etc. Almost everyone knows the words I am talking about beforehand, and many of them have even had experience with them.
I felt that the generation of digital natives is getting younger and younger. It is a good experience for elementary school students to learn about careers, to put on the image of working, to imagine that they can contribute to society and be useful to someone else.
