On June 14, 2023, HACI commercialized the HondaJet 2600 Concept, a new aircraft concept that will be one level above the current aircraft in the "light jet" class. The official product name was announced as the HondaJet Echelon. The aircraft will carry a maximum of 11 passengers and crew, and will retain the specifications that allow it to be operated by a single pilot.

The aircraft will have a range of 2,625 nautical miles (approximately 4,862 km), which would make it the first light jet class aircraft to cross the U.S. continent, and a cruising speed of 450 knots (approximately 833 km/h).


 The HondaJet Elite II, the newest and most automated version of the HondaJet, was announced on October 18, 2022.

 Honda Aircraft Company (HACI), a U.S. subsidiary of Honda Motor (7267), announced on January 31, local time (February 1, Japan time), that it has delivered its 250th HondaJet small business jet to a customer. The delivery took place eight years after the first delivery in December 2015.

 The HondaJet was designed by Michitada Fujino, former president and CEO of HACI, who was responsible for its development. The first mass-produced aircraft took off from Piedmont Triad International Airport in Greensboro, North Carolina, where HACI is headquartered, at 10:18 a.m. local time on June 27, 2014 (11:18 p.m. Japan time), and successfully completed its first flight. The aircraft has been certified by the FAA (U.S. Federal Aviation Administration) as a Type Certificate (TC) in 2015, and has received TCs in 14 countries, including Japan.


 In 2018, the company introduced the HondaJet Elite, its first improved version with a longer range and quieter cabin; in 2021, the HondaJet Elite S, which increases maximum takeoff weight by 200 pounds (91 kg) and extends range by up to 120 nautical miles (222 km). The "HondaJet Elite S" and the "HondaJet Elite II," the latest model with increased automation, were announced on October 18, 2022.


 Both have a maximum capacity of two passengers and six crew members or one crew member and seven passengers, and can be operated by a single pilot.


 HACI President Hideto Yamazaki said, "The milestone of 250 aircraft delivered is not just a number, but a testament to our constant pursuit of excellence and innovation. According to the company, the HondaJet has surpassed 210,000 flight hours worldwide.
