ENGLISH. 英語版 I put together a list of characteristics of websites of companies that have gone bankrupt and found that the opposite of this is a clue to attracting web customers.

Go to the blog where I summarized the websites of bankrupt companies.

Comment: When I look at the websites of bankrupt stores and companies, they have not been updated for about 10 years.

The design is old. They are all top-down and not doing bottom-up regularly and consistently. The fact that there is not a web programmer for each IT department in the Human Resources, General Affairs, and Education Divisions is a problem.

I think it is a problem and all departments should have web programmers.

If all of the "good college graduates" were web programmers, it would be a problem.

If all the people who are called excellent university graduates are web programmers, but all of them don't know how to use a computer, they are just gymnasts, and it's the same as Dentsu.

The similarity of the companies that went bankrupt is that they can only make homepages and cannot make websites, even though they are companies.

May 8, 2017 Category: tips for attracting customers to your website

In this age of bankruptcy, it doesn't matter if you are a big company or not.

If you look up "Shiga Prefecture Bankruptcy" you will find a number of websites that summarize the situation, but if you look at the websites of these companies that have actually gone bankrupt, you will see that there is a common thread.

So, at the very least, if we can make our websites the opposite of these, we can avoid bankruptcy, right?

Of course it is not that simple, but if there is a hint that you can attract customers on the Web there!

Contents [hide]

1 Features of websites of companies that went bankrupt! (There are exceptions, of course.)

1.1 Why is the website of a bankrupt company often in such a state?

2 Don't the websites of your competitors who are able to attract customers through the web look like this?

2.1 What is the effect of a website that is newer than the old design and still easy to read?

2.2 If the content of the website is easy to understand and contains a variety of information from the perspective of your peers, what effect does this have?

2.3 What effect will it have if the blog and campaigns are well updated?

3 No matter how much I write, people who do not update will not update no matter how much I say.

The website features of a bankrupt company! (There are exceptions, of course.)

Here is a summary of the information we have compiled from the actual websites of bankrupt companies.

In the case of a newly bankrupt company, the homepage data may still be intact, or it can be viewed through Internet Archives.

1. Site design is more than 10 years old.

2. Only summary information about the company is posted on the site.

3. The website was updated more than 5 years ago, or it has stopped being updated after "the website is now open to the public".

What do you think?

Do these items make you think, "My company's website may be similar to this one! Are you thinking, "My company's website may be similar to this one!

In the case of B to B, we don't need a website! It has become commonplace for customers to search for and view your company's website before their first transaction with you.

Even if you never put the information on your website, what would be the impression you would get if you saw these information and design items?

Probably

There is no information on the website....

The design is old and there are broken links.

I wonder if this company is OK?

Is this company okay?

Will they be all right?

Yes, even if the sales staff had a good impression of the company at the time of sales, when they see the homepage, they wonder, "Is this company OK? And the atmosphere that wafts from such a homepage is not good.

And the atmosphere that comes from such a website is "stagnation" itself.

As a result, the website, which should be a useful sales tool, became a major drag, and the company was unable to get the work it should have been able to get, resulting in a lack of sales and bankruptcy.

Why are websites of companies that have gone bankrupt often in such a state?

This is just a guess, but I think that the reason is that they "put off spending on the web".

The owner/management team may think that they cannot spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on a website at a time when they have to struggle for cash flow if they have no prospect of making sales.

But as a result, the question becomes, "Is this company (store) going to be all right?" and this is a drag on the business.

Creating a website is an investment, and it is money worth spending, no matter how difficult times may be.

As a result, if you are only concerned with day-to-day cash flow, no matter how much time goes by, it will only get worse....

Isn't this what the websites of your peers who are attracting customers through the web look like?

As long as you are in business, you are inevitably concerned about the reputations of your peers around you.

And can you think of a few companies in the same business area that are doing well?

The websites of those companies are probably going in the exact opposite direction of the features of the websites of the companies that went bankrupt.

The design is new, current, and easy to view on a smartphone.

The website content is easy to understand from a peer's point of view and contains a variety of information.

The website is well updated with blogs and campaigns.

What will happen to a website that has these features?

What is the effect of a newer and easier-to-read website than an older design?

I mentioned that an old design is one of the reasons for a feeling of stagnation, but a modern website can first eliminate this cause.

Of course, a website that is not updated at all is meaningless! However, a website that is easy to navigate will increase the "circulation rate," and the number of times visitors see your company's information tends to be higher than with an old design.

As a result, the number of times visitors will see more detailed information than if the homepage is closed after the first page.

This company does not only websites, but also designs printed materials!

The price is not as high as I thought it would be!

The price is not as expensive as you think! → "Yes, we are a company that designs printed materials.

As a result, sales may increase.

What are the effects of a website that is easy to understand and contains a variety of information from a competitor's point of view?

In the case of an old website, the design is not the only problem. It's what's inside! The important contents only include a company profile or access to the website.

What will customers think when they see that?

What they want to know is our production record! And yet, there is nothing.

I have no idea what this company's strengths are!

This is what happens.

As a result, even if the design is good, the information and the elements to know are the contents such as text. The more successful a company is at attracting customers to its website, the more well-crafted it is.

(For example, our website!).

What effect does a well updated blog or campaign have?

The design is new!

The content is pretty good!

But the last time the site was updated was 5 years ago.

What kind of impression does that give you?

Isn't this old information? Is this information reliable?

It will be.

Updating a blog or a campaign is a way to create a flow on the website. It is a way to make the website come alive.

Also, if you create new articles, the number of pages will increase, so if the content is solid, the number of accesses will surely increase.

By doing so, we will increase the number of accesses, which will be the mother number, and still attract more customers from the homepage. If that happens, don't you think the threat of bankruptcy can be prevented at least a little?

Even if I write all this, people who do not update their websites will not update their websites no matter how much I tell them to.

I hope you have read this far and feel a sense of crisis

We need to update our website! The design is old and needs to be updated!

and the owner will take some kind of action.

But even if they read this

If you think, "Hmmm, I guess I don't have to do it now.

If you think "Hmm, well, I don't have to do it now," you probably won't update your homepage.

Because they don't have a sense of urgency, and they are too much of a bother.

However, because there are such people, companies that put more effort into their websites can win alone or consistently bring in customers from the web.

People are people, and I am me! Please help your company attract customers by updating and improving your website as much as possible.

See you soon.
